Mites are generally considered to be minor pests, though occasionally they explode to very high populations in large areas. The mites infesting sugarcane usually colonies on the leaf lamina except eriophyid mites which infest the leaf sheath.
Management
• Removal and destruction of plants infested are recommended for suppressing its population build-up.
