• For protection against seed borne diseases 0.1% Carbendazim can be prepared by dissolving the chemical at the rate of one gram per liter of water and just before planting, the sets should be dipped in the solution for about 10-15 minutes.
• During autumn the soil should be treated with chlorpyrifos @ 5 litres/ha mixed with 800-1000 litres of water.
• However, Fipronil 0.3GR can be used in spring @ 25 kg/ha.
• Soiling should be done in the last week of June. At the time of soiling, Cartap Hydrochloride 4G should also be added at the rate of 25 kg per hectare along with 25% nitrogen.
